Campervan Hire T&Cs

Rental charges

Rates are for drivers 25 – 79 years only.

Rates are based on single, double or twin share basis.

Rates are calculated per day, not per night.

Hire includes Unlimited kilometres

Rate include GST and Government charges

Rates include Insurance (refer to the insurance section)

Rates include RACT breakdown service

No credit card surcharge for Visa or Mastercard.

Changes cannot be made to bookings within 30 days of pick up, changes outside of 30 days default to the current advertised rate. 

Advertised rates apply to customers booking direct and are non-commissionable to travel agents.

Insurance

Hire rates include insurance.

Drivers over 25 years and under 80 years of age have a standard excess of $3000.00 included in our rates. The excess may be reduced to $1500.00 by paying an additional $22.00 per day (minimum charge $132.00 up to a maximum of $660.00) and includes one free front windscreen replacement or accidental tyre damage.

Many access roads into Tasmania’s National Parks are unsealed roads and we allow our vehicles to be used on these roads without any loss of insurance cover or increased excess.

We do not allow the vans to be taken on the Western Explorer Road between Corinna and Arthur River. 

Licence and age restrictions

We require a valid drivers licence from your country of origin and an international drivers licence if the details are not in English.

Drivers must be 25 years of age and less than 80 years of age, licensed for more than 2 years and not been disqualified or had their licence cancelled or suspended during the past 5 years. Probationary licence holders are not permitted to drive our vehicles.

A maximum of 2 drivers can be listed as joint renters and both must be present to complete the Hire Agreement to collect the campervan.

Payment and deposit

We require a deposit of 20% of the hire cost to confirm bookings. The balance of the rental payment is required on collection of the van. Deposits are non refundable. Payments can be made by Direct deposit to our bank account, Mastercard or Visa, or Cash.

Your credit card details are held as security in the Hire Agreement and the card must be in the name of either joint renter.

Collection and Return

Vans are to be collected from and returned to our office at 105 Mornington Road, Mornington.

Time to Collect – by appointment between 8am & 5:30pm AEST.

Time to Return – by appointment between 7am & 6pm AEST.

We’re approximately half way between the Hobart airport and the Hobart CBD. The easiest and cheapest way to get to us is by Uber with the fare being less than $25, or about $35 in a taxi (the airport bus will not stop enroute to the city).

Change of Vehicle

In the unlikely event of a breakdown, repairs are to be carried out by a qualified repairer at the most convenient location upon authorisation from our office. This may require you to deviate from your itinerary or possibly turn back to seek assistance. If repairs are unable to be completed in a timely manner we will arrange to exchange the campervan where possible. If no substitute vehicle is available our liability is limited to a full refund of the remaining portion of rental.

Living Equipment

All vans are fitted with shade awnings and equipped with all bedding, linen, towels, crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, folding outdoor chairs and table and are included in the rates. Meaning, no add on fees or charges.

Important

Tasmanian Campervan Hire reserves the right to refuse any rental hire at its discretion.

We do not permit bikes to be carried in our campervans.
